Scrutiny of Government Committee

Scrutiny of Government Committee

I am very pleased to announce the new members of the Coalition’s Scrutiny of Government Committee.

Coalition Senators Mary Jo Fisher and David Bushby and Members Kelly O’Dwyer, Dan Tehan, Paul Fletcher and myself as Chair will continue to highlight Labor’s waste, inefficiency and mismanagement.

In Labor’s first term, the Coalition’s Waste Watch Committee revealed that some $10 billion was wasted through the mismanagement of the school halls, home insulation, green loans and school laptop programmes.

The previous Chair and spokesperson Senator Guy Barnett should be congratulated on his role in highlighting this waste and mismanagement.

Australia can’t afford three more years of bad decisions, botched programs and budget blowouts.  Australian taxpayers are already paying the price for Labor’s first term stuff-ups, forking out $100 million every day to pay back Labor’s debt.

But with thousands of dollars already being wasted on unnecessary Departmental title changes and a new Foreign Minister whose addiction to overseas splurges is no secret, there is no sign that Labor is about change its spots.

Labor is addicted to spending and appears to have learned little from their first term of waste and mismanagement.  This is a bad government that will only get worse.

The new members of the Committee will continue to hold Labor to account and highlight their waste and mismanagement in the new Parliament.

Do you have your own story of Labor's waste, inefficiency and mismanagement of taxpayer's money? Hold them to account and tell us on the Tip-Off page.
