Labor accused of giving grants to groups backing carbon tax

Further revelations of Labor’s willingness to use taxpayers’ money to fund political advertising to support the Carbon Tax include:

  • $4m was spent sending glossy brochures to every Australian household
  • $20.1m was spent on a media advertising campaign ($16.2m on advertising buy and $3.9m on campaign development)
  • $13m is being spent on the Government’s so called ‘Climate Change Foundation Campaign’ funding activist groups around Australia

GREEN groups that formed the backbone of the ”Say Yes” campaign supporting the government’s carbon tax have received hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayer-funded grants, bureaucrats told a Senate estimates committee yesterday.
