The real cost of knifing Kevin Rudd
Australian taxpayers faced a multi-million dollar bill following the knifing of Kevin Rudd in June this year for the cost of payouts to ministerial staff alone.
According to a response I received yesterday to a Question on Notice, the Australian taxpayer paid $1.3 million in payments to terminated staff immediately following Kevin Rudd’s knifing, and a further $5.5 million following the subsequent election.
The cost of the indulgence of the faceless men of the Labor Party in knifing Kevin Rudd also had a multi-million dollar consequence for the Australian taxpayer.
Not only did Australians wake up to a new Prime Minister at the end of June, they also awoke to a massive bill. It is a bill that should be paid by the Labor Party’s faceless men, not the Australian taxpayer.
The loss of over a 100 staff in a matter of months is another signal at the massive disunity within the Labor Government. It is little wonder that the government has so badly mishandled the Murray Darling Basin plan, that its border protection policies are a mess and that it is unable to take any serious action against rogue banks.
While the faceless men who executed Kevin Rudd have all been promoted by Julia Gillard, the Australian people have had to pick up the tab.
This is a government that is out of control.
